Detailed Plot:

Seoul, Korea – Queen Seon Deok’s Lee Yo Won appears as a mysterious “Doenjang Girl” in the poster for her new movie DoenjangDoenjang, directed by Lee Seo Gun, has been garnering interest as the latest mystery movie after Leave While They’re Clapping by the “Jang Jin quartet.”
One of the more noticeable lines on the poster is “A flavor that captures people”. This line hints at an interesting case that is part of the plot, not just a story about flavor. The central focus is on the mysterious Jang Hae Jin (Lee Yo Won), holding a butterfly in her hand, but we are also intrigued by the image of the murderer Kim Jong Gu being arrested in front of the doenjang restaurant where everything begins.
The mysterious story begins when, five years after his escape from prison, it is revealed that Kim Jong Gu was originally imprisoned because of doenjang jjigae. You can see Lee Yo Won’s transformation into the strange woman making doenjang when the movie premieres on October 21.

REVIEWS

Looking at the chart, it's understandable that "The Recipe" only placed #10 as it really did not show on as many screens as the other movies. It's definitely not a commercial film. Let's hope that Lee Yo-won will get nominations for Best Actress at the movie awards since it's an artistic movie.

LYW "Though the turn was few, I wanted to show a sense of existence.
" イ・ヨウォン「出番は少ないが、存在感を示したかった」

Actress who played Queen Seondeok, LYW is "less worried about the turn in the movie", her remarks attracted attention.

LYW during the press preview of the movie "Miso" directed by Jang Jin held on the 15th at 7:00 pm in Seoul CGV said she was not worried about her scenes in the movie being less than she had expected. Initially I had hesitated to be cast , therefore, I want to compliment my presence there. In the movie I played Jang Hye Jin's character. Regardless of the turn I think that the character can give a great influence on the audience, she said.

The appearance of LYW in the movie open to the public in today's preview was considerably little. For the running time of 1 hour and 40 minutes the whole scene she appeared did not even reach 25 minutes. And in full swing, LYW appeared 30 minutes from the ending of the movie. The heroine's amount of appearance was extremely short. The drama developed simultaneously with the narrator Rue Sunryon who recaps the events of the past.

[The last paragraph was a synopsis of the movie & LYW's role.]

LYW " Starring alone still frightens me"

On October 18 I met actress LYW who returned to the screen in a peculiar film "Miso". We met at one of the cafes in Jongno-gu district of Seoul. Unlike her graceful image on screen she was cool & outspoken. Such personality was a reversed representation. She answered all the questions honestly & it was a wonderful interview. I would like to thank her. BTW, on October 19 LYW canceled all interviews for the reasons she said that the focus was not on the film but on her personal life. LYW answered candidly to questions about family but she did not discuss them in great details.

There' s a preconception for the title "Miso", I feel the movie is very unique.

I was also very serious in the beginning. This movie was about a murderer who escaped from prison for five years & was again arrested after he was caught eating in Tenjanchige district. A broadcasting company received the information & TV producer (Ryu Seung-ryong) strongly exposed it in a documentary. We & the TV producer also team up together, Jang Hye Jin (LYW) who loved the idea of miso eventually made it. In the beginning I saw a ball or chunk of miso malt in the vicinity & I knew then for the first time that there's a room there for miso malt. Through the movie I found out that a certain wind, a certain water & a certain jar changes the miso taste. I was worried when the trailer came out a little light because during the shooting I was very serious.

When you first saw the movie, how was it?

I've seen it first on DVD. It was very interesting & despite the busy schedule I watched it with amazement & in rapid succession. My part also came out neatly, I was happy & very satisfied.

There was a kissing scene with LDW in a dent, it was beautiful.

I was a little embarrassed. Though the people around were not doing anything, alone I was blushing. It seemed my limbs had shrunk. I am a very shy person, holding back the throbbing I make mistakes. Even before this senior actors said I was as hard as a stick. (laughs).

About the short presence in the film, you have stated " I wanted to emanate a sense of existence"...

I was satisfied that I came out neat. Though the director took many low path angles, but because female actors are not pleasing angle I wanted it to pass away as soon as possible I thought. I have already grown old so I have become such a person.(laughter).

Since "Take Care of My Cat" this is your first time to work again with a female director.

Jeong Jae-eu, director of the movie "Take Care of My Cat" also didn't have a lot of years. Me also when I was young there were a lot of parts to which I understood but I didn't take. Though the specific significance of the phase I undertook was not big & even when it was edited, I cried a lot. The young mind could not understand it. After 10 years I thought I would like to work again with a female director.

How was it together with Ryu Seung-ryong? Though of course there were not many scenes that you acted together. I had seen him twice in the movie set, he was very warm. I thought I'd be frightened when I see him, but he was very homely & welcoming.

Family story does not bother you?

There are some people who think that because I don't do it I don't get along well. It's not the case that I am female actress LYW, outside I just want to be seen as LYW.

You had played many different roles after you got married & had a child.

I don't want to talk about family. If I talk about family it would create a lot of preconceived ideas, would it not? It's one thing that is not good in our country. I got married too early, I insisted on it because I wanted to do it at that age. In the beginning it had been said that it was damaging, now there's a feeling that I am doing well.
For every performance you had hit the box office.

I seem to have been lucky. However, there is no special meaning because in top team (starring alone) I did not hit the box office. But I am among the stable. During the highlight of "younger brother ( younger sister) shameful conduct" I received volumes of questions, I feel that I am still insufficient & lacking. Because the work in top team is done when there is feelings of confidence, I still want to learn with other actors in the field.
When does the time of the top team become?

It is still a little bit scary & frightening. I don't know if I could see my limits so I am anxious and fearful. Although I've realized the feeling that must clash for a long time, I really don't know yet. I couldn't find the way yet to shine brightly. While taking a rest tentatively for a moment I am thinking about my next work.
